Valparaíso, Chile

Rocking about 4 hours sleep we got up and checked out. Caught a taxi to the bus terminal and got our tickets to Valparaiso (Valpo), an old port town with tonnes of "culture". The trip took 2 hours.

Valpo is a very tired looking town. Much more run down and dirty than Santiago; just as many dogs. The actual city part didn't have a very nice vibe.

We walked about 45 mins to our hostel. A local helped us find it. He was super friendly and really loved this town. So enthusiastic and helpful.

Our host didn't speak English but "uno notche" was enough to sort it out. Her house was amongst the millions of others stacked as high as you can see on the side of the cliff. Very old and shakey, but it did the job.

The town is very makeshift on the cliff. Spindly staircases meandering up and down and through the maze of houses. Plenty of cats to keep us company as we explored.

Our massive day yesterday caught up with us. We walked back to the hostel around 5pm (just in time, nature was calling me loudly. Stupid Chile water) we slept until 6:30 the next morning. Fair effort.
