Santiago, Chile

Woke up feeling a million bucks at 6am. Too bad Santiago doesn't really wake up till 9 or 10 though. We strolled around the empty streets and grabbed a coffee from the only place that was open.
Climbed up Cerro Santa Lucia which was right near our apartment. Had a local drink at the top. Apricot, peach and wheat things. It was... Interesting. Didn't know what it was until I read about it later.
Highlight of the day was climbing the main hill/mountain of Santiago. It's steeper than Lofty. Took about 30 mins including a stop to help a cyclist whose diabetes got the better of. Views at the top were incredible. We got a good appreciation for just how big Santiago is. It goes forever. Caught the funicular back down the mountain. Pretty much vertical descent. Crazy.
Walked through Barrio Bellavista on the way back. Saw some awesome food people were eating and stopped dead. Long necks are 1 litre and about 3 bucks, so we had one and some of the local Chorrillana (a mountain of chips, sausage, beef cuts with 2 eggs on top and some bread to soak up all the goodness at the end) and a "sandwich", which are really just awesome burgers in Chile.
Went back and slept for an hour or so then got up and walked to Barrio Brasil for more food and drink. Yep, fatties, we know. Turned out that Barrio sucked, so we went back to Bellavista and had pizza and another sandwich.
